There will be no switching sides midway thru third game.

A ball that hits the ceiling and stays on your side must be played.  If it hits and crosses the net, it is out.  (Anything hanging from the ceiling is considered part of the ceiling).

A players hand or foot may cross the center line providing some part remains on their side of the line.

Incidental net contact is limited to loose hair.

Libero jersey must be different in color.

Varsity may step in 5 feet to serve overhand.  After a successful serve, the player must take a step (18 inches) backwards before her next serving attempt.  After three consecutive successful serves, a player must serve from behind the line for the remainder of the match.  This practice will cease on October 1 for Varsity but will remain in effect for the entire JV season.

JVB girls serving underhand may move as close to the net as they need to in order to be successful.  This is allowed in order to help a player be successful and improve the pace of the game.  As there are no real records kept in JV, this should not be used and abused in order to win a game.  With each successful serve, a player must take a step (18 inches) backwards before her next serve attempt.  JV players are allowed 5 serves and then a rotation must take place.  If at anytime a coach feels a team is taking advantage of this rule, he/she may request that all players on both teams only be allowed the 5 foot serving advantage.

Both JV A and JV B must rotate all girls into the game with each new service rotation for your team.  Coaches should pick a position in which they will rotate girls into and stick with that position for the entire game.  (setters are exempt from this rule at the JV A level).

Toss for service:     After a ball is released for service, it may be caught or allowed to

drop to get a re-serve.  Only one (1) re-serve allowed per play per

term of service.  The ball does not need to be tosses/released before

contact.  Time allowed for service is 5 seconds.

Libero Player:         May act as team captain and allowed to serve in one rotation in a set.

Legal Contact:        Contact below the waist is illegal.

The no pursuit rule will be applied.

Proper substitution rules must be followed.  Be sure that all coaches are aware what this means.

4 copies of signed rosters are due to me no later than September 12th (no exceptions).  Coaches affidavits must be attached.  Failure to hand in 4 copies and affidavits will result in disqualification from post season activities.

Refs will be responsible for reporting the results to me the day after the match.  Please email results to Janet.
